1. Does HLF contribute to the common fund?
Together with other funders, we contribute to a common fund managed by a partnership board to support programmes of individual projects that will conserve heritage, increase understanding and skills and enable access to the landscape heritage of the area.
2. Is there a deadline for applications?
First round applications are only considered by HLF’s Board of Trustees in a single annual batch to be held in April of each year. You should therefore make sure that your first round application reaches your regional or country office by the 30 November in any one year.
You are expected to make your second round submission within 12 to 18 months of being awarded a first-round pass. This will be mainly in the form of a Landscape Conservation Action Plan (LCAP) and some supporting information, which is detailed in the second-round guidance notes. The second-round submission will be further assessed and final decisions for awarding the Landscape Partnership grant will be made by country and regional committees.
3. We can't fill in the PDF version of the application form. Does HLF have an electronic version of this form that we can complete and submit?
We have not been able to produce a fully electronic and integrated application form that will automatically transfer data to our corporate database in time for the first batch deadline. In the interim we have produced a Word version, which will enable you to input the information we request into a form. We recommend that you save this document and work on it in 'print layout' this will ensure that the form format will stay intact. Save your changed as you normally would. You should then email this application to landscapepartnerships@hlf.org.uk. Please find the word version of the application form on the Landscape Partnerships webpage.
4. If we have already produced our own version of the application form, can we still submit this, or do we have to cut and paste into your Word version of the first round form?
For this first batch, if applicants have printed their own application form, then this is fine as long as it reproduces all the sections covered by the HLF application form. However you will need to download our version of the Declaration (please see the attachment on the Landscape Partnerships webpage), sign it, attach and send it with your completed application form and any supporting information requested. Be sure to SAVE the document and complete as usual.
