2. Can you raise part of your project costs from your own and other sources?
HLF will commit up to £10million per annum across the UK to this particular grant programme. If you ask for a grant of less than £1 million, you will need to provide at least 10% of the scheme costs from your own or other sources. If you ask for a grant of £1 million or more, you will need to provide at least 25% of the scheme costs from your own or other sources.

3. Does your project involve a number of different organisations?
A partnership approach is central to developing a successful scheme.  Landscape Partnerships are normally made up of members of the community, or regional, national or local organisations with an interest in the area.   We expect the partnership to have a shared purpose to develop, manage and deliver the scheme for the benefit of the landscape and community as a whole.

4. Does your project have a landscape character?
We support schemes which aim to conserve areas of land which have a distinct local landscape character recognised and valued by local people.  You will need to know what makes this landscape area a special and distinctive part of the UK culture.  What features or elements of this landscape, and associated activities, make it special and can be conserved to give enjoyment and occupation to those who live in, work in or visit the area.

5. Does your scheme involve projects which takes place on land or include property which you or your ‘partners’ do not directly own or control?
We recognise that many of the projects within your scheme will take place on land or include property which you or your ‘partners’ do not directly own or control.  You will be responsible for the terms of any grant contract relating to your scheme, including repaying the grant if necessary.
