Parks for People offers grants for projects involving urban or rural green spaces designed for informal recreation and enjoyment.
The definition of a park for this programme is as follows:
an existing designed urban or rural green space, the main purpose of which is for informal recreation and enjoyment.
it includes parks, gardens, squares, walks and promenades.
The priorities for selection of a park for funding are:
the community values the park as part of their heritage;
the parks meets local social, economic and environmental needs;
and the park actively involves local people.
The five outcomes for your proposed project are:
increasing the range of audiences
conserving and improving the heritage value
increasing the range of volunteers involved
increasing knowledge and skills
improving management and maintenance

There will be two closing dates for applications. You can submit a first-round or second-round application at either date. ● 1 March 2010 for a decision in June 2010 ● 31 August 2010 for a decision in December 2010 |

We aim to reach a decision on stage two applications within six months of receiving them. We make decisions on applications at stage two four times a year; March, June, September and December.
